After the senseless deaths of his wife and teenage daughter, American Intelligence Analyst Jack Hollingsworth returns to Romania to help the CIA find five missing Scaleboard missiles and to personally find the persons involved in his loved ones' deaths. Jack is accompanied by Russian Intelligence Agent Ludvia Kerensky, whom he does not trust because of her previous associations with the KGB. After Ludvia protects Jack from the Romanian Secret Police, deceitful CIA agents, and industrial spies, she gains Jack's trust. Jack then discovers that Ludvia's primary Romanian connection is his most bitter enemy, the Prince of Simbata. Ludvia is confronted with choosing a friendship with Jack or the rich and powerful prince. The explosive ending of this novel reveals that the willingness to sacrifice one's life for faith and trust is more important than political ideologies and revenge. This spy/love story occurs in the beautiful, fledgling democracy of Romania, where the police and military are still struggling to overcome the dictatorial ways of their communist past.

The Romanian Connection Richard Roche Books

This novel is, in my opinion, misclassified as a spy romance novel. I consider it to be a novel about international political intirgue. It demonstrates what happens worldwide but particularly in developing nations where the struggle for competent self government is often overruled by powerful people who exploit thier personal connections to achieve their own selfish goals. Tthe author has done an outstanding job of showing both the big picture of how countries interact and plot to gain what is possessed by others and the smaller picture of how these interactions effect individuals who unwittingly and helplessly become involved in historical events.
The author faithfully captures the beautry of Transylvania's countryside and the spirit of its people. I highly recommend this book for action, romance and a behind-the-scenes look at international manipulations. the novel is also a history lesson about how Romania is slowly recovering from the oppression of communism.

The Romanian Connection Richard Roche Books Reviews

This book has it all when it comes to very good spy and romance fiction writing. Starting off with an attack on his wife and then his daughter, Jack Hollingsworth begins on his path of vengeance across several continants to seek his closure.

Shrouded in secrecy the industry of espionage places Jack in a substitute agent catagory. With a main agenda he cannot escape, Jack undergoes the worst things that can happen to a spy, including torture.

Out of nowhere the story takes an unexpecting turn, an unusual romance involving another spy... a Russian spy.

This book is an all-american product, from the author to the printer. The print is large and easy to read. Even the feel of the pages are comfortable and made from fine paper.

"The Romanian Connection" is an entertaining great read, a novel you won't want to put down once started. Both men and women will enjoy this stunning work. The author has a way of drawing you into the frey with remarkable details

Richard Roche's life experiences and travels are evident in his writing, placing it on my will read again shelf.

Hoping for the next adventure.

Great book and suspense. Good reading.
Excellent. Reads smoothly and fast. Also provides you a glimpse of postwar Romania and Germany.
This book is very detailed and almost seems like a Non-fiction story in the way Richard Roche sets the story together so well. It is fiction but he includes alot of fact in his book. After reading the first chapter i was sucked into the book and didnt set it down until I read the last page. He uses foreshadowing in some ways but not as to ruin the story plot, it will keep you guessing and is exciting all the way threw. The book also tackles the military points perfectly down to the bullets in the guns and how a CIA operative would handle any of the situations in this book. It also adds to the book from the identity of the Author who has been all over the world for his work in the military and his jobs after the military. It is a excellent book and id recommend it to anyone.
With it having so much spy stuff, CIA and military, The Romanian Connection is a good novel for men as well as women. I read mysteries a lot. I really liked the mystery of not knowing the outcome and not being able to figure it out. Some mysteries I have figured them out by the 3rd chapter, not so with the Romanian Connection!!

Kudos to Richard Roche for this exciting and eventful novel. I hope there is another book to be written, a sequel maybe??"
