we decided to celebrate the end of the competition in good fashion by making the bacon explosion. it was pretty much amazing! it was truly a dream come true. below are pictures detailing our experience with this culinary delight.

the sasquatch is pretty excited about this and i'm pretty sure that he sweat on the bacon explosion while making it. this is a rare photo as the sasquatch is an elusive creature.
garland fries up the bacon for the inside of the bacon explosion while the sasquatch lcontinues to weave the bacon.
i'm thinking that the weave would be a good way to make bacon while camping. thoughts?

we were not in possession of a smoker as the recipe called for, so we had to bake it for a while before throwing it on the grill. as some of you may remember from the bacon we grilled outside of pink that one night, bacon on the grill sends up some flames.
this is post grill and post 2nd round in the oven. it is complete.

my plate...we also had tater tots that were fried in the leftover bacon grease. the tots did not hold their shape, but damn were they tastey. nothing better than bacon flavored potatoes. there's also plenty of hot sauce on there.

Have any of you actually had a heart attack yet? Or is it still just the chest pains? Do you feel numbness in you arm? Jesus Christ on a crutch that's A LOT of Bacon!

Christ on a bagel, that's a lot of pork! I do enjoy the bacon weaving though.
do you think that college krause visited in vermont would have let you major in bacon weaving?
You'd probably have to take Indigenous Methods of Meat Curing as a pre-req.
